New Find!

Now everyone knows I have a mild obsession with menswear, so it's only appropriate that I would be très excited about great menswear available HERE in Kenya. See online retailer CHICO LECO. Got my eye on the cobalt blue cigarette pants (US $23) by Kardikepha - for my fella although I'd wear them if I could. Obviously. The pants should remind you of Hermes Spring/Summer 2013 for men ("study in blue" - Vogue) seen at Paris Fashion Week.

Anyway, check out CHICO LECO, they have quirky boy accessories that you'll like.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

"On the Street... Corso Venezia, Milan" - The Sartorialist

This image I found on The Sartorialist, which I visit about once a week to catch up on what I've missed... I kept coming back to this image because, well, it's exquisite. The outfit I mean. The cat-eye sunglasses, the bra-let and matching midi skirt, the chillipepper motif, the tan accessories, the attitude. This is everything summer is meant to be. I covet it wholeheartedly.

Men Are the New Women?

The Business of Fashion's "The Fashion Trail: From Pitti to Paris, Men Are the New Women"

PARIS, France – “Men are the new women,” or so went the refrain of the fashion pack who have travelled from London to Florence to Milan to Paris over the last three weeks, taking in the menswear collections for Spring/Summer 2013.
Indeed, according to a recent report by Bain & Company, a consulting firm, the luxury menswear market is growing at almost 14 percent per year, outpacing growth in womenswear by almost double. And, as male consumers begin to take to style and fashion with the same fervour as their female counterparts, menswear is a growing priority for luxury and fashion brands...

Congratulations to winning emerging designer Jamil Walji. He is now officially an entrant at the FAFA (Festival for African Fashion & Arts) Gala Night in November. If he hadn't won, I would have pegged it on Nick Ondu (Ankara Vintage) with his bright-hued menswear. Thanks to Ann McCreath and her KikoRomeo family, as well as Valerie Coulibaly of Africasens for superb organization.
